My aim is to defy all traditional and historic standards of what is seen as feminine and feminist in nature. I want my style to be comparable to the deconstruction of societal and more importantly patriarchal standards within modern life. I seek to question what is seen as feminine within the public eye, encouraging the public to question their own views of femininity and what it means to be a woman. Printmaking is paramount to my artistic output, where I have abstracted feminine objects such as flowers into colourful and obscure more gestural realisations. I aim to capture these notions in a wistful manner, portraying these objects in an abstracted way as a conscious effort to question our perceived notions of femininity.
