John McLoughlin is a multi-disciplinary artist and researcher based in Cardiff; passionate about the evocative power of portraiture, John is nevertheless expanding his practice to include narrative and historical work, as well as still life and landscape paintings. John is interested in exploring the full gamut of painting and its representative qualities, including the non-human and natural worlds. John primarily uses physical media: paintings are made with oils and traditional drawing materials.
