"I'm a Cardiff based artist, with a current focus on still life oil paintings. Themes include the wilting of flowers and plants, tracking the changes in organic forms through observation over a period of time. Works included take inspiration from Dutch Still Life painting.

I am originally from North Yorkshire, and graduated from Cardiff Met in 2018, and from Easten Illinois University with an MA in Fine art in 2020."

Still Life with Cacti includes orchids and roses wilting and drying out, scattared amongst the set up. These were all once part of other compositions, and this painting brings to a close their use as subject matters. The darker more somber pallette reflects this.
